Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist to join our team at LogixHealth. As a Senior Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for processing denied and unpaid claims submitted to insurance carriers, ensuring timely payments and providing oversight to internal team leads and billing specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and resolve denials on explanation of benefits (EOB) and work on issues/errors until resolved
  • Review A/R reports to follow up on any unpaid claims
  • Submit required appeals when needed
  • Submit any required documentation to insurance companies as requested
  • Review claims for accuracy to ensure timely processing
  • Communicate with insurance companies, adjustors, and attorneys on a regular basis
  • Correct errors and resubmit unprocessed or returned claims to insurance companies
  • Enter new information into billing software to create HCFA bills
  • Assist the Billing staff in resolving issues and answering their questions
  • Forward issues to appropriate Account Manager & Billing Manager when necessary
  • Process write-off requests according to set guidelines
  • Assist the team lead staff in any backlog of work or issues
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • One to two years related billing experience preferred; Previous Billing Specialist experience highly desired
  • Prior word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software experience, including proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or fellow employees
