Objective

To supervise and direct the Emergency Department Billing team and its operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all personnel within the Emergency Department Billing sector
  • Oversee the training of new hires and those moving into different roles
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to address challenges within the team
  • Establish new workflows and enhance existing procedures
  • Disseminate new client information to team leaders and staff
  • Assess staff workload and productivity levels
  • Conduct reviews of employee audits
  • Supervise daily tasks related to Emergency Department Billing follow-up
  • Ensure staff is adequately trained and informed of job expectations, taking corrective action when necessary
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere through
  • Effective communication regarding departmental and organizational initiatives
  • Adjusting processes to enhance efficiency
  • Resolving interpersonal conflicts among team members
  • Encouraging constructive feedback within the team
  • Oversee the recruitment process
  • Identify staffing needs
  • Post internal job openings
  • Participate in the screening and interviewing process alongside team managers
  • Adhere to all relevant State and Federal regulations regarding compliance, including HIPAA Privacy and Security
  • Ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct and compliance policies by departmental managers and staff
  • Implement appropriate disciplinary actions for compliance violations
  • Review and validate time and attendance records in accordance with company policies
  • Provide ongoing feedback and conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports, as well as monitoring evaluations for other staff
  • Uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values
  • Proactively oversee company policies and address any violations
  • Facilitate departmental meetings and present to senior management as required
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to operations and employment

Education

A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Technical Skills

Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software is essential, with proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word required.

Experience

  1. Demonstrated strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
  2. Proven management experience overseeing large, multi-tasking teams
