About the Job

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction. As an Addiction Specialist, you will be responsible for screening and assessing patients in need of addiction or detoxification treatment. You will develop evaluation reports and provide counseling to patients admitted to our addiction treatment program or detoxification unit.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Screening and assessing patients in need of addiction or detoxification treatment.
  • Developing appropriate evaluation reports and providing psycho-social/addiction histories for new patients.
  • Making decisions regarding frequency and intensity of treatment during intake and assessment process.
  • Providing individual and group therapeutic services dealing with the disease of addiction and transition of recovering persons.
  • Negotiating and providing direction to patients regarding contingency contracting, appointment scheduling, and screening mechanisms.
  • Providing home visits, follow-up, and aftercare as necessary.
  • Identifying and isolating specific problems of patients, assisting in obtaining entitlements.
  • Providing clinical and treatment direction to subordinate staff.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a valid Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) - Level 1 Certificate issued by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Alternatively, you may be considered a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) based on licensure, certification, and/or registration along with appropriate experience and/or training.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
