Overview

The Senior Security Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Site Supervisor to ensure that all contractual commitments are fulfilled during their shifts. Acting as the alternate Site Supervisor, this position is accountable for demonstrating leadership, fostering a positive work environment, overseeing, and evaluating the performance of all security personnel assigned to the site. Responsibilities include managing shift schedules, addressing inquiries from Security Officers, and resolving shift-related issues with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the general orders and site-specific post orders, as well as the Chenega Standard Operating Procedures and CDC policies.
  • Ensures that security officers on their shift are aware of any special requirements or anticipated circumstances.
  • Communicates critical incidents to the chain of command, prepares end-of-shift reports, and provides daily updates on significant activities.
  • Reviews daily written reports from security officers for clarity, accuracy, and professionalism, and assists in preparing incident reports.
  • Monitors and updates the post pass down log, daily briefing binder, and visitors' logs, ensuring all content is accurate.
  • Evaluates post orders and directives, suggesting necessary updates and ensuring compliance among shift members.
  • Conducts daily inspections of security personnel for compliance with appearance standards and inspects equipment and vehicles.
  • Performs quality control inspections during shifts, documenting conditions and identifying needs for supplies or materials.
  • Manages daily schedules, coordinates with off-duty personnel for replacements, and oversees payroll documentation.
  • Handles administrative tasks including the distribution of uniforms and equipment, and monitors fleet maintenance needs.
  • Participates in weapon counts and inventories as required.
  • Tracks attendance trends among security officers and addresses any patterns of absenteeism.
  • Initiates appropriate actions regarding disciplinary matters and documents incidents of officer injuries or serious illnesses.
  • Responds to emergencies requiring supervisory presence and conducts unbiased investigations into service complaints.
  • Ensures that shift supervisors are fulfilling their job responsibilities effectively.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all procedures, policies, and regulations relevant to the site.
  • Ensures security personnel are equipped with the necessary gear and uniforms to perform their duties.
  • Assists the site manager in overseeing the site-specific security team.
  • Supports the site manager in planning and executing quarterly exercises to evaluate the response and competency of the security team.
  • Contributes to the preparation of documented after-action reviews that include corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Assists in scheduling personnel and managing shift changes as needed.
  • Facilitates the approval of annual personal leave for site-specific personnel.
  • Provides necessary reports to the contract company and client regarding security incidents and information.
  • Supervises to ensure appropriate actions are taken regarding disciplinary matters and officer injuries.
  • Oversees all shift supervisors assigned to the site.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in security or law enforcement, with substantial operational experience in military, security, or police roles.
  • Five years of specialized experience in physical security or law enforcement.
  • Equivalent education or experience may be considered.
  • Must hold a valid State Driver's License.
  • Honorably discharged from military service (if applicable).
  • Proficient in English, with the ability to apply written rules and instructions.
  • Completion of training from a recognized law enforcement or military academy is required.
  • Must qualify with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol as per agency standards.
  • Must meet all Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as an Armed Security Guard.
  • No history of illegal drug use or felony convictions.
  • Must pass a background check and security risk assessment prior to assignment.
  • Must obtain current State armed Security Officer Registration.
  • Compliance with federal law regarding employment eligibility verification is required.
  • Adherence to government guidelines regarding COVID vaccine attestation/restrictions is necessary.
