Job Title: Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse - YCCS Program

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the YCCS Program. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to youth in our crisis stabilization program.

About the YCCS Program

The YCCS Program is a short-term mental health stabilization program for youth in crisis. Our program provides a safe and supportive environment for youth to receive the care and treatment they need to overcome their challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medication and provide nursing care to youth in our program
  • Develop and implement individualized health services plans in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team
  • Assist with filling physician's orders, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs
  • Provide leadership on the shift and support the implementation of daily routines to promote safety, recovery, and treatment
  • Assist with making decisions regarding the course of treatment and monitoring the effectiveness of medications
  • Conduct health screenings and ensure that all immunizations are current
  • Assist with medical, diagnostic, and laboratory appointments and initiate appropriate action
  • Contribute to the nursing assessment as part of the comprehensive assessment process
  • Provide ongoing assessment of youth and provide brief crisis counseling as needed
Qualifications
  • Two years of pediatric/adolescent and/or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • Active LPN license in Massachusetts required
  • Certified in CPR and Standard First Aid
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
