Job Summary

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the YCCS Program. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to youth in our crisis stabilization program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medication and provide nursing care to youth in our program
  • Develop and implement individualized health services plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Assist with filling physician's orders, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs
  • Provide leadership on the shift by supporting the implementation of daily routines and promoting a safe and supportive environment
  • Assist with making decisions regarding the course of treatment and monitoring the effectiveness of medications
  • Conduct health screenings and ensure that all immunizations are current
  • Assist with medical, diagnostic, and laboratory appointments and initiate appropriate action
  • Contribute to the nursing assessment as part of the comprehensive assessment process
  • Provide ongoing assessment of youth, including vital signs as prescribed
  • Provide brief crisis counseling as needed and assist with crisis prevention planning
Requirements
  • Two years of pediatric/adolescent and/or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
  • Active LPN license in Massachusetts
  • Certified in CPR and Standard First Aid
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
