The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Conferences and Events to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing high-level conferences, symposia, and meetings that showcase the University's academic excellence and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a strategic approach to conferences and events, ensuring maximum coordination and alignment with the University's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with faculty, department leads, and other stakeholders to conceptualize and plan best-in-class conferences and events.
- Event Management
- Oversee the development and implementation of systems for managing and executing conferences, symposia, and meetings, ensuring seamless logistics and high-quality execution.
- Supervise the creation of event plans that meet the needs of various audiences, including faculty, alumni, and external partners.
- Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of experienced conference and event coordinators, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
- Develop and manage an events budget, coordinating vendors and supplies to ensure efficient and effective event execution.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Represent the University at high-level events and conferences, fostering relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Communications, Development, and Student Affairs, to ensure cross-functional coordination and alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, with 5-7 years of increasing managerial and programming responsibility.
- Portfolio of creative, innovative, and exciting work demonstrating the ability to design and implement high-level events.
- Established track record as a collaborator in the workplace, with experience working with various constituencies, including faculty, alumni, and external partners.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute large and small events, with experience managing disparate groups and coordinating complex projects.
