Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our Portland team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will work on designing sustainable transportation projects and collaborating with other disciplines to create innovative solutions. Your expertise will be essential in managing projects from design through construction, ensuring timely delivery, and providing technical guidance to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage transportation projects from design to construction, ensuring successful project delivery and providing technical expertise to the team.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development and training to technical engineering team.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team, collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
  • Prepare schedules, budgets, and scope of services for projects.
  • Workload balancing and support regional leader in business development.
  • Provide quality control over team deliverables.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity; 5+ years as a Project Manager; 3+ years managing staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or TE (Traffic Engineer) licensure.
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the field of active, non-motorized transportation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimates packages for roadway projects and a detailed understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations.
  • Exhibits strong initiative and ability to capitalize on opportunities to enhance Alta's position in the marketplace.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent professional ethics, leadership skills, accountability, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, MS Project or equivalent, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in an enterprise-wide resource planning and project management tool.

  • Compensation: The pay range for this job in Portland is $117,000-$180,000 annually.
