About the Role:
BNSF Railway is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing daily train and switching operations, ensuring compliance with Federal Railroad Administration and BNSF rules, and fostering a safety-first work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading safety briefings and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Facilitating crew discussions on safety and managing compliance with attendance policies.
- Assisting crews with personnel paperwork and providing transportation for timely operations.
- Corresponding with customers regarding shipments and planning the movement of cars, locomotives, and crews within terminals.
- Implementing policies, supervising employees, and managing daily train and switching operations.
Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
- Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States.
- Capable of visually distinguishing among red, blue, green, yellow, and lunar (clear light) colors and able to see at night.
- Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and can safely perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able and willing to relocate anywhere on the BNSF Railway operating system upon hire, career progression, and/or business needs.
- Have a high school degree or achieved a degree through a GED program.
- Have at least three (3) years of military and/or professional work experience supervising five (5) or more employees.
