Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas of the school building.

• Conduct emergency cleaning as required and assist with general cleanup tasks.

• Inspect and perform minor repairs on heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

• Change air filters and maintain custodial equipment.

• Care for school grounds, including mowing, watering, and snow removal.

• Prepare athletic fields and gym floors for events and maintain athletic equipment.

• Assist with setup and cleanup for special events and community functions.

• Support cafeteria operations, including heavy lifting and cleanup tasks.

• Ensure building security by locking/unlocking and performing checks as needed.

• Stock and distribute supplies throughout the school.

• Assist with work requests and errands for school personnel.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of three months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Certification in district custodial training preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.

• Understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures.

• Knowledge of emergency protocols and safety procedures.

• Proficient in using small equipment and machinery.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires heavy physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and performing various physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

Salary: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour

Schedule:
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Monday to Friday
  • On-call availability
  • Weekend shifts as needed
