Job Summary

River City Bank is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Officer to join our Commercial Banking team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating new business relationships and driving revenue growth in the commercial middle market and commercial real estate segments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and acquire new banking relationships, including loans, deposits, and cash management services.
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Develop and validate potential lending customers and direct qualified leads to Commercial Banking and Commercial Real Estate Groups.
  • Relationship Management: Partner with Commercial Relationship Managers to prioritize prospects, develop pursuit strategies, create proposals, and manage new customer acquisitions and onboarding processes.
  • Market Knowledge: Establish expertise within the Bank's geographic market, establish a network of contacts, and understand the differing credit needs and industry economics.
  • Sales and Proposal Development: Develop and effectively communicate sales proposals to target customers.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Develop and maintain market knowledge of Commercial Banking and Commercial Real Estate products and services.
  • Customer Service: Provide consistent, high-quality, and professional service to potential customers.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain a current knowledge of bank regulations and ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with coursework in marketing, business, or finance from an accredited college or equivalent related work experience.
  • Experience: Five years of proven and progressive related sales, marketing, and relationship management experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge of commercial lending practices and lending approval process, experience direct sourcing and prospecting new clients within the segment, commercial or middle market account relationship management experience, established network in the local market, experience growing a business or portfolio of clients, experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas, experience negotiating interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements.
