About the Role
We are in search of a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Manager with a focus on Events to join our energetic team at OpenAI. In this pivotal role, you will significantly influence our events initiatives by developing and refining strategies that enhance efficiency and consistency as we expand our global events footprint. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate effective communication across the organization, ensuring that all teams are well-represented throughout every stage of project management.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a genuine enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and a proven history in event management, operations, or administrative roles. Key Responsibilities:
- Refine and optimize the operational framework for OpenAI's events, ensuring seamless execution across various functions and maintaining high standards.
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive database of essential vendors, contractors, and contacts, nurturing strong relationships and dependable partnerships.
- Collaborate with Events leadership and departments such as Marketing, Sales, and Recruiting to establish and monitor KPIs, ensuring consistent measurement and reporting, and standardizing lead tracking processes.
- Work closely with Executive Business Partners to standardize communication with Executives and their support teams, ensuring clarity in schedule management and consistency across programs.
- Manage collaborations with Procurement, Legal, and Finance to streamline support and keep projects on track during demanding timelines.
- Establish spending guidelines for OpenAI events to inform future projects.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and an Event Style Guide in partnership with Production, Technical Production, and Design teams.
- Oversee logistics, including shipping, international freight, customs, warehousing, inventory, and promotional item production.
- Possesses 7+ years of experience in project management, operations, administrative support, or related fields.
- Demonstrates experience managing multiple events and finds excitement in dynamic environments.
- Exhibits strong cross-functional team management skills, with a commitment to fostering open communication and embracing diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Enjoys discovering innovative ways to leverage OpenAI tools and products to enhance team productivity.
- Shows a profound interest in artificial intelligence that benefits all of humanity.
