Position Overview:

The Biomedical Equipment Support Specialist (National) - Tele Technology is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of medical technology within the VHA Healthcare Technology Management Program Office. This role involves monitoring advancements in biomedical technology and facilitating strategic planning for equipment at a national level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lifecycle Management: Provide insights on medical technology, monitor emerging trends, and participate in technology assessments and product evaluations.
  • Policy Development: Draft and review national policies for the implementation and maintenance of Tele Technology, while establishing best practices for medical technology management.
  • Technical Support: Offer expert guidance on Tele Technology, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance, and sharing troubleshooting strategies.
Work Schedule:

This position operates on a standard schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with options for compressed work hours and telework eligibility.

Virtual and Remote Work:

This is a virtual position, allowing for work performed on a full-time basis using VA-leased space or at designated facilities.

Physical Requirements:

The role is primarily sedentary, performed in office environments, with occasional travel required.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, proficient in English, and possess relevant educational qualifications in Biomedical Electronics Technology or related fields, along with applicable experience in biomedical equipment support.

Additional Information:

Selected candidates will undergo a background investigation and may be required to complete an online onboarding process. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all VA Health Care Personnel.
