ABOUT THE COMPANY: Intrinsic Development is a comprehensive real estate development firm specializing in high-end multi-family and commercial mixed-use projects. Our organization has successfully completed over 3.5 million square feet of developments, with an additional 300,000 square feet currently underway. The Intrinsic Development team has a proven track record in creating diverse projects, including hospitality venues, mixed-use developments, multi-family residences, hotels, clinics, offices, and restaurants across six Midwestern states. We are thrilled to announce our expansion into a new corporate office.

POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee all financial responsibilities associated with our construction division. This role involves managing the complete accounting cycle and actively engaging in the responsibilities outlined below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contract Management: Review and analyze contract terms, track modifications and change orders, and ensure compliance with billing and revenue recognition standards.
  • Cash Flow Management: Ensure precise reconciliation of cash transactions and effectively oversee cash flow for construction projects.
  • Job Cost Management: Maintain a detailed job cost accounting system to monitor and analyze project expenses, including labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Manage lien waivers to ensure adherence to legal requirements and safeguard the company's interests.
  • Insurance Oversight: Oversee the collection and management of certificates of insurance from subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file use tax returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations and minimize liabilities.
  • Accounts Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, track depreciation, and reconcile asset balances for proper accounting.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and perform analysis to identify discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Reporting: Generate various financial reports to provide management with timely and accurate information for decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MINIMUM: 5+ years of general accounting experience.
  • PREFERRED: Previous experience in construction accounting.
  • PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • PREFERRED: Familiarity with Procore and Sage/Timberline.
  • Ability to learn new financial software.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
