Job Title: Digital Access Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Access Manager to join our team at the State of North Carolina. As a key member of our Digital Services Section, you will be responsible for overseeing the branch that provides online access to indexes, finding aids, and digitally formatted archival materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee staff responsible for digitizing materials and creating metadata for access through online digital collections.
  • Create policies, tools, guidelines, and training materials related to the creation of materials for and the use of our online resources.
  • Collaborate with State Library of North Carolina staff on shared digital collections, indexes, and metadata standards.
  • Oversee the process for selecting materials to be added to digital collections.
  • Manage website and social media tools of the Division of Archives and Records, including development of content, formatting, and workflows.
  • Serve on the division management team to assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Digital Archivist to prepare digital files for preservation and access.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in archival and records management principles and metadata standards.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and/or leading staff in appraising, arranging, and describing records and documents.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-level planning, organizing, and staffing of complex projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge to interpret and apply thorough knowledge of concepts of fair use, intellectual property rights, copyright law, and state and federal public records laws.
