Job Description

The Sommelier will be responsible for managing the wine and beverage program, partnering with the Restaurant Director to ensure seamless operational activities and high-quality service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Wine Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the restaurant's wine and beverage program, including ordering, inventory management, organization, and cost control.
  • Training and Development: Develop and execute wine and beverage training programs for employees to enhance their knowledge of wine tasting and service.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with the management team to ensure state-of-the-art service delivery, assist with daily operational duties, and support reporting and opening/closing procedures.
  • Front-of-House Leadership: Coordinate restaurant front-of-house actions, fostering a smooth and effective collaboration across staff and exceeding guest expectations.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • 2+ years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a sommelier role.
  • Proven knowledge of food and beverage pairings.
  • Solid understanding of pricing, budgets, and cost management.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Second language preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional grooming and appearance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and people-management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
