Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Collaborate with Rail Project Managers and Engineers to manage projects, develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Civil and Track Engineering: Take ownership of civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, right-of-way, and utilities tasks.
  • Design Development: Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Managers.
  • Project Execution: Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate: Possession of an EIT certificate is highly desirable.
  • Career Progression: Candidates without an EIT certificate will be placed in a Design Coordinator role and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career advancement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, and GEOPAK-route design software is essential.
  • MS Office Applications: Experience with MS Office applications is necessary.
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong interest in railway design is required.
  • Cultural Fit: An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is essential.
