Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Support Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our inventory management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform stockroom duties, including receiving, put-away stock & rotation, quarterly cycle counts, systematic replenishment, and other functions according to customer requirements.
  • Deliver direct shipment orders to end users and perform deliveries as required.
  • Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) & work instructions.
  • Make decisions and apply available resources to meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze and maintain various customer and company reports to ensure collaborator requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with others to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Respond to internal and external customers with timely and accurate service, and follow through on commitments.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 1+ years of equivalent experience preferred, not required.
  • 1+ years of inventory management experience preferred, not required.
  • Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred.
  • Validated customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, problem-solver, promotes team environment.
  • Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions:
  • Works primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations, and laboratory environments.
  • Extensive walking may be required.
  • May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • Material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks will be available for use.
  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn.
