We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty team as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Strategic Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, business and society, and business law. The ideal candidate will have a strong research agenda in strategic management and a commitment to engaging with Silicon Valley management and innovation professionals.

The School of Management at San Jose State University's Lucas College and Graduate School of Business is home to the Management and Human Resource Management undergraduate concentrations. Our faculty are highly engaged with our students and serve as mentors and advisors to student organizations. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and seek a candidate who shares our values.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate from an accredited university and/or scholarly active (SA) status under AACSB standards. They will have evidence of teaching excellence or potential for teaching effectiveness in strategic management and a demonstrated record of scholarly publications in strategic management or related areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching courses in strategic management, innovation, organizational theory, business and society, and business law.
  • Developing and maintaining an active research agenda in peer-reviewed high-quality journals.
  • Engaging with multicultural and diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Participation in shared governance at all levels of the university and other service assignments.

Required Qualifications:

  • A doctorate from an accredited university and/or scholarly active (SA) status under AACSB standards.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence or potential for teaching effectiveness in strategic management.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly publications in strategic management or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates whose research focus is in strategic management and is related to innovation will be given priority.
