Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Attendant plays a crucial role in overseeing the tracking of tools and materials utilized by the Building Authority personnel. This position is essential for ensuring optimal pricing and availability of parts and tools related to requisitions, modifications, work orders, and inventory management. The attendant is also responsible for shipping and receiving deliveries, as well as providing assistance to other trades when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and secure the best pricing and availability for tools and materials associated with modifications, work orders, requisitions, and inventory.
  2. Maintain accurate records of all tools and materials checked out and returned by personnel.
  3. Manage inventory levels and place orders as necessary.
  4. Input data for requisitions, work orders, modifications, and estimates.
  5. Update and maintain vendor listings.
  6. Verify received items against purchase orders.
  7. Handle incoming shipments and finalize purchase orders.
  8. Expedite the processing of purchase orders.
  9. Coordinate 'Will Call' pickups with vendors.
  10. Organize parts pickups as needed.
  11. File and purge documentation for completed purchase orders, work orders, estimates, and modifications.
  12. Inspect tools and equipment for maintenance or safety concerns.
  13. Label and engrave all tools and equipment.
  14. Create folders for new equipment and tools, logging them into the equipment file.
  15. Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as required.
  16. Request and document Safety Data Sheets for chemicals.
  17. Label all chemicals in the tool crib and workshops with appropriate HMIS labels.
  18. Maintain a clean, organized workspace free from safety hazards.
  19. Acquire uniforms for associates as needed.
  20. Operate a forklift when necessary.
  21. Assist building security with tenant vehicle issues in the parking area.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Equipment Utilized:

The Inventory Control Attendant should be proficient with various tools and equipment, including but not limited to: two-wheel dollies, pallet jacks, forklifts/stackers, fax machines, copiers/scanners, AMMS Custom Maintenance Management Software, printers, basic computer applications, and two-way radios.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, memorize, and apply various numerical sequences.
  • Capability to navigate the city for parts pickups and returns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 2-3 years of prior inventory experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools and materials.
  • Computer literate with experience in entering purchase orders.
  • Forklift certification.
