Job Overview

A prominent machine shop and metal fabrication firm is seeking a skilled Material Handler for a first shift role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate major equipment for mixing, blending, grinding, and extruding within a Manufacturing Division.
  • Ensure precise formulation weights and measurements are maintained.
  • Adhere strictly to processing instructions and criteria.
  • Adjust and set operational parameters of assigned machinery to meet processing standards.
  • Keep workstations and equipment organized and clean.
  • Transport materials and supplies from storage to production areas efficiently.
  • Assist in load handling at various manufacturing stations.
  • Deliver finished products from production areas to storage facilities.
  • Prepare palletized materials for shipment or storage through loading, banding, or shrink wrapping.
  • Mark cartons with designated stencils.
  • Support the maintenance of warehousing areas to ensure cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Receive training to competently operate up to five different workstations.
  • Conduct cycle counts of materials such as labels, boxes, and cartons.
  • Be prepared to perform all duties of Job #4 (LEO) as required.
  • Report production output and activities accurately.
  • Present production data to management as needed.
  • Unload trucks and manage the movement and storage of raw and finished goods.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and understand Bills of Material, processing instructions, and packaging guidelines.
  • Demonstrated safe operation of a forklift with a valid license.
  • Must not have color vision deficiencies.
  • Capability to consistently lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Proficient in operating hydraulic and electric pallet movers, as well as hand jacks.
  • Able to work in elevated temperature environments.

Compensation:

$21.04 per hour
