Role Overview: The Construction Site Manager will oversee the renovation of historic buildings at Fort Sam Houston, ensuring that all project goals are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall project supervision to ensure adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Plan weekly activities and guide subcontractors in their tasks.
  • Participate in scope reviews to ensure completeness of bid packages.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop site utilization plans and necessary services.
  • Document and manage all subcontractor activities and material purchases in compliance with contract specifications.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain accurate schedules.
  • Conduct field administration for subcontractors.
  • Oversee workforce management to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Assist in tracking performance metrics and project estimates.
  • Prepare daily reports and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Enforce safety regulations and conduct site inspections for quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Combination of education and experience demonstrating required skills.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in construction project leadership.
  • Minimum of 10 years in the construction industry.
  • Experience with vertical and utility construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage both direct labor and subcontractors.

Skills:

  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to design and procedural compliance.
  • Experience in cost and schedule management.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with a good fit for company culture.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DOD/DOE projects.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Knowledge of historical renovation practices.

Physical Demands: This role requires work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, with potential extended hours to meet project deadlines. Candidates should be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating construction sites.

Working Environment: Employees may encounter various conditions including wet or humid environments, mechanical parts, and outdoor weather extremes. Noise levels may be high.
