Position Overview:

**Exciting opportunity for a Construction Planning Manager at Summit Engineering and Construction**

The Construction Planning Manager (CPM) will oversee the programming, financial planning, design, and engineering aspects of significant client projects from inception to completion. The following outlines the key responsibilities:

  • Project Programming:
    • Gather and document client specifications
    • Outline the overarching project scope
    • Assess equipment, site, and structural layout limitations
    • Research local and state regulatory requirements
    • Create initial site plans and essential section drawings
    • Formulate preliminary budget estimates
    • Identify overall project timelines and limitations
  • Schematic Design:
    • Refine project scope with stakeholder feedback
    • Engage and manage the services of subconsultants and/or internal design teams
    • Produce initial project documentation
    • Establish project budget parameters
    • Ensure adherence to requirements and regulations
    • Review documentation with key project members
    • Oversee detailed design timelines
    • Obtain client approval for subsequent phases
  • Detailed Development:
    • Finalize draft contract documents
    • Calculate project costs
    • Verify information provided by suppliers and contractors
    • Ensure timely completion of drawings and specifications
    • Prepare necessary permitting documentation
    • Remain engaged in the project to address RFIs or design-related concerns

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, adept problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a keen desire to comprehend the intricacies of each project. You should be capable of planning, organizing, and guiding a team effectively. A comprehensive understanding of the design and construction process is essential.

This role entails interacting with clients, coordinating resources, managing budgets, ensuring thorough project documentation, and more. You will report directly to the Director of Preconstruction.
