Student Success System Resource Teacher

The Student Success System Resource Teacher will play a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the school's Student Success System (SSS). The SSS ensures early identification, outreach to families, and intervention to students meeting one or more risk/need thresholds related to academics, behavior, and attendance. As well, the system aligns with the school's overall improvement plans, family and community engagement, and school climate strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development and continuous improvement of the school's Student Success System in conjunction with the school principal.
- Establish, facilitate, and coach the school's Student Success System team.
- Work with leadership to establish expectations for staff, conduct staff training and support, and ensure a cadence of accountability that ensures interventions are conducted, documented, and monitored.
- Facilitate and ensure data access, utilization, training, and tracking so staff consistently identify and respond to students in need of additional support.
- Identify staff development, support, and mindset needs and provide training, coaching, and tools to staff.
- Align SSS processes and activities with school goals, plans, and processes.
- Support the development and implementation of aligned school improvement plans that include targeted and aligned SSS strategies.
- Monitor student, classroom, grade level, target population, school, and other data to ensure early identification of students, documented interventions, activation of supports, services, and family engagement, and outcomes.
- Identify and support coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of family engagement, student voice and choice, school climate, and community partnership strategies as critical components of an effective school Student Success System.
- Comply with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and uphold and enforce rules, administrative directives, and regulations.
- Articulate and facilitate the implementation of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public Schools.
- Safeguard confidentiality of privileged information.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy, and administrative regulations.
- Share the responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and report safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, the community, and other professionals.
- Maintain professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities, and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Attend staff meetings and participate on committees within the area of responsibility.
- Perform other tasks related to the area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an immediate supervisor.
- Experience with supporting the development and implementation of school attendance (or other improvement) plans.
- Knowledge of attendance laws and district procedural directives.
- Adept at accessing, analyzing, and utilizing data to identify student and school needs.
- Strong background knowledge of academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions/MLSS.
- Knowledgeable of Special Education and the IEP process.
- Experience training and/or coaching adults around learning and change processes.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to align strategies and practices to an overall set of priorities and goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Valid NM Teacher's Level II or Level III license appropriate to teaching assignment.
- 5 or more years experience teaching students in K-12.
- Experience leading a team through a continuous improvement process and goal attainment.
