Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as a Student Success Specialist in the Office of Student Academic Affairs and the UNM Office of Interprofessional Education. This role plays a critical part in the coordination and success of students, directly engaging with students, faculty, and staff in the coordination and tracking of interprofessional programming and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and assist with advisement and/or consultative services for the Pre-Health Certificate Program and Interprofessional Education (IPE) Honors students.
  • Assist with outreach and retention activities designed to attract, retain, and serve students in the Pre-Health Certificate Program and Interprofessional Education (IPE) Honors programs.
  • Support activity logistics, including compiling materials, scheduling rooms, creating registrations, participating in marketing efforts, and reviewing program effectiveness.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of workshops, presentations, and other educational programs for the IPE Honors and PHSC program.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and/or perform a range of diverse administrative activities for the HSC Registrar, IPE Director, and PHSC program director.
  • Sort, screen, review, and distribute incoming and outgoing emails; compose, prepare, or ensure timely responses for the office of Interprofessional Education (IPE).
  • Assist and coordinate with HSSC and HSC Registrar with North Campus Food Pantry.
  • Track student honors program progress to honors award.
  • RedCap Database reporting, including Microsoft Access Database data entry and Microsoft Teams data entry.
  • Communicate upcoming events to the IPE community through listserv emails.
  • Oversee listservs, including IPE Honors and IPE Faculty Champions.
  • Meetings coordinator for the IPE team, including IPE Weekly Meetings, IPE Core Team Weekly Meetings, and IPE Faculty Champion Quarterly meetings.
  • Verify student activities for Honors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Basic knowledge of university settings, policies, programs, and services.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize educational programs, meetings, and/or special events.
  • Database management skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, with the ability to build and develop Excel spreadsheets using formulas for research.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet, Zoom, Doodle, Marq, and Moodle.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in fast-paced working environments and prioritize accordingly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze and solve problems, and make administrative/procedural decisions, including when to consult management.
  • Experience with event planning and support.
  • Experience working at UNM Health Sciences Center or UNM.
