About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research and Development Chemist to join our team at NewMarket Corporation. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for conducting complex research and development activities to meet the objectives of our Technology Development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute research and development projects to develop new products and technologies.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to understand the properties and behavior of materials.
  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research and development projects.
  • Communicate research findings and results to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other means.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in research and development, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of chemical principles and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
