POSITION SUMMARY

The Communications Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Communications & Media Relations team, reporting directly to the Director of Communications. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities related to communications and marketing operations, including the creation of training and technical assistance materials. The Coordinator will also oversee external communications efforts aimed at promoting the adoption and utilization of these resources within NCA's national network of CACs. The ideal candidate will excel in developing and managing external content, as well as assisting in the execution of strategic work plans and product launches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development and Management:

  • Design and implement educational communication products and services, such as brochures, guidebooks, video training modules, and live online learning sessions.
  • Promote educational resources through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and member communications, while adhering to NCA's brand standards.
  • Act as a representative for NCA within the CAC community, fostering relationships with collaborative groups and external partners to enhance the capabilities of member CACs.
  • Oversee the management of external vendors providing services such as graphic design, editing, and web development.
  • Continuously monitor the communications landscape to identify trends and strategies that can effectively engage audiences and drive action.

Communications Operations:

  • Create, edit, and design engaging content for both digital and traditional media to raise awareness and support for CACs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine the dissemination of educational materials to targeted audiences.
  • Manage the development and distribution of training resources, ensuring timely updates and compliance with grant deliverables.
  • Identify and address operational challenges within the department, working with leadership to implement effective solutions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position primarily involves sedentary work.
  • Some local and domestic travel may be required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and lift items up to 15 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public-facing communications, with a strong portfolio of written and digital content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, and other digital publishing tools is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaboration with diverse groups.
