Fire Safety Systems Technician

As a Fire Safety Systems Technician, you will be responsible for executing service and new installation commissioning tasks related to fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and intercom systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and evaluate the installation of systems to ensure they meet client expectations and adhere to manufacturer guidelines.
- Coordinate field activities, communicate effectively, and perform system programming, commissioning, and testing as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment needing service, including identifying potential wiring issues.
- Offer tailored solutions and advice to clients on the most efficient and cost-effective methods to restore systems to operational status.
- Manage assigned service calls, ensuring accurate estimation of field labor hours.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and responsiveness to client inquiries.
- Document daily activities and prepare necessary reports.
- May require working beyond standard hours.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and operational manuals.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing over 40 pounds.
- Work in elevated positions, including climbing ladders and scaffolding up to 40 feet.
- Navigate confined spaces such as ducts and crawl spaces.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in the installation and servicing of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, with proven troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate exceptional customer service.
- Capable of lifting and moving equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or an associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with IT network systems.
- Competent in using hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex architectural and engineering documents.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CCURE 9000, NICET, and DCJS.
- Experience with security systems like P2000 or C-Cure 9000.
