Customer Service Representative - Banking Center

Welcome to First Merchants Bank, where we are committed to providing exceptional customer service and helping our clients achieve their financial goals. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team in a Banking Center role.

  • Deliver high-quality customer service by processing transactions, opening accounts, and assisting with loan applications.
  • Assess clients' financial positions to identify additional relationship opportunities and provide tailored solutions.
  • Meet sales goals and recommend products to deepen client relationships and increase revenue.
  • Provide education on electronic banking products and services, ensuring clients are aware of the latest financial tools and resources.
  • Support partnership opportunities in areas such as treasury management and investments, fostering strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Assist with banking center operations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, maintaining a secure and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in banking, sales, or a related field.
  • S.A.F.E Act registration and Notary Public designation required.
  • Knowledge of bank products and services, including financial planning and analysis.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift files, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a computer and phone, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior banking experience, with a strong understanding of financial products and services.
  • Ability to sell and cross-sell bank products, with a focus on building strong client relationships.
