About the Role

The Sous Chef position is a pivotal leadership role within the culinary team, responsible for driving exceptional food and guest experiences at our location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively coach and motivate team members to deliver outstanding results
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and drive location operations to the highest standards
  • Monitor quality and sanitation standards, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and team members
  • Deliver against financial goals and budgets, setting the standard for culinary excellence
  • Oversee equipment maintenance routines, ensuring seamless kitchen operations
  • Support the creation of menu build diagrams and monitor output to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Ensure all routine kitchen management procedures are adhered to, including opening and closing checklists, cleaning schedules, temperature checks, waste sheets, and pest control
  • Creation of menu specifications, as needed, and setting standards for chef table setups
  • Perform daily line checks to verify quality and flavor standards, leading game day culinary operations
  • Manage end-of-month inventory, in partnership with the purchasing team, to ensure accurate stock recording
  • Proactively monitor and manage food waste to drive cost savings
  • Deliver training and coaching to team members on menu and general culinary skills
  • Manage employee breaks to ensure team well-being
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to set the tone for events
  • Complete onboarding and orientation for new culinary team members
  • Ensure all elements of food ordering, delivery, prep, transportation, and service are conducted to a high standard, in line with Levy's sanitation and safety Core Signatures
  • Support other Levy locations, as needed, and maintain and update recipes
  • Manage culinary department budget
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a culinary leadership position
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Understanding of financial concepts
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
