Job Summary

The Production Sub-Assembler is responsible for testing components and building component assemblies required for the production of diesel generator units. This role involves working with limited supervision and requires the ability to follow directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive work orders and plan the working procedure and tools required.
  • Assemble and test components for diesel generator sets according to the bill of materials and work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks for mistakes or faulty components in the assembly process.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Supply own tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Technical skills, mechanical skills, and product knowledge are helpful.
  • Ability to write and present information clearly to co-workers.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand assembly instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of related experience and/or training.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
