Maintenance Superintendent Job Description

At Drucker and Falk, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our properties, ensuring that they are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Train and supervise maintenance staff to ensure they are performing their duties to the highest standard.
  • Maintenance Operations: Oversee the maintenance of all mechanical equipment, buildings, and common areas, ensuring that they are in good working order and meet safety standards.
  • Emergency Response: Be available to respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure that the community has adequate maintenance coverage at all times.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with property managers, regional property managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that maintenance needs are met and that the community is running smoothly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve maintenance operations and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., facilities management, engineering) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
