HEI Civil provides comprehensive construction services, covering various sectors such as heavy civil highway construction, commercial and residential projects, oil field services, site development, and recreational facilities.

We are in search of a highly organized and motivated Benefits Specialist to support our HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills, along with a strong commitment to employee satisfaction and relationship-building across all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and additional voluntary benefits.
  • Act as the primary resource for employees regarding benefits-related questions and concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations concerning employee benefits, including COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and ERISA.
  • Facilitate benefits enrollment sessions, delivering clear and informative guidance to employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to guarantee accurate processing of benefits transactions.
  • Maintain precise records and documentation related to employee benefits, including audits and reconciliations.
  • Engage with external vendors and brokers to manage relationships and negotiate benefits contracts.
  • Develop and distribute employee communications regarding benefits and wellness initiatives.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in Employee Navigator and payroll systems.
  • Assist with new-hire orientations.
  • Process employee enrollments with carriers and manage life status changes.
  • Address benefits inquiries from management and staff regarding plan provisions and enrollment processes.
  • Respond to 401(k) inquiries related to enrollments and plan changes.
  • Support the employee recognition program and associated initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint Spectrum is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service focus with a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • One to three years of experience in human resource administration preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to perform repetitive hand movements.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based work with varying temperature conditions.

Job Type: Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary: $60,000 to $65,000, based on experience
