Packaging Operations Manager, Quality Assurance

As a Production Supervisor, Liquid Packaging (2nd shift), you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe production of high-quality liquid packaging products for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include managing daily operations, supervising a team of production staff, and implementing quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Abbott policies.

This position is located in our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. About You
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in business, science, food technology or engineering and 2+ years' work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Proven leadership capabilities, project planning & execution experiences, process control knowledge, and a proven plant financial understanding are essential skills for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and promote the behaviors that support a continuously improving EHS culture by engaging with employees and other key stakeholders in ensuring all EHS requirements are met inclusive of internal and external regulatory objectives and direction.
- Coach and direct individuals in delivering EHS performance for themselves, their team and department.
- Preparation and active participation in internal and external EHS audits and incident/accident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Model and promote the behaviors that ensure delivery of high-quality products for customers while maintaining compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements, and adhering to the regulatory requirements of countries to which products are shipped.
- Preparation and active participation in internal and external Quality audits and incident investigation and reporting; coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventative action.
- Manage budget accountability for Headcount, OT, and direct expenses for a shift and/or line.
- Track, trend and continuously improve budgetary performance for direct expenses, Headcount, OT, Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), production (Unit/Hour, Pounds/Hour), Material Usage Variance (MUV) and Scrap and Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).
