We are currently looking for a Production Technician to become a vital part of our team at the production facility in Jackson, Minnesota. Your Responsibilities:
  • Engage in harvesting operations, including preparation, seed sampling, and unloading of trucks.
  • Carry out a range of tasks related to plant, field, and warehouse functions that vary with the seasons.
  • Monitor automated machinery for processes such as harvesting, conditioning, treating, and packaging.
  • Execute production tasks including seed conditioning, treating, packaging, and rework.
  • Handle product returns and sorting tasks.
  • Conduct field activities such as scouting, inspections, and logistics management.
  • Utilize technology and computerized systems to complete work assignments (including computers and tablets).
  • Perform warehouse duties such as operating forklifts, collecting samples, and pooling.
  • Undertake various other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • A High School Diploma/GED is required, or a commitment to obtain a GED within twelve months of employment.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, standing, and lifting up to fifty pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to learn and work across various areas (field, plant, warehouse).
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfort with technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a readiness to learn company-specific software.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety, adhering to all safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • A valid US Driver's License is required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends during peak production seasons.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two-Year Technical or Associate's Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or a related sector.
  • Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work.
  • General knowledge of field and agricultural equipment (e.g., plows, tractors, forklifts).
Work Authorization:
  • This position does not offer relocation benefits.
  • VISA sponsorship is not available for this role.
