Job Description

Job Summary Support the Controller in delivering financial insights and operational assistance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide financial and operational support to the leadership team. Engage in the annual budgeting cycle by collaborating with leadership to formulate their financial plans for the upcoming year. Aid in the assessment of internal financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards. Conduct financial analyses, including pro forma evaluations. Assist the Controller in preparing monthly forecasts, critical statistical information, and other financial requests. Contribute to the monthly business review (MBR) process. Generate weekly and monthly reports on key performance indicators for distribution to operational teams. Ensure adherence to accounting protocols and consistency in practices. Address inquiries related to transactions reflected in financial statements. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) regarding the management systems utilized across LKQ's various divisions, including Project X for salvage and Prelude for aftermarket. May conduct site visits to perform internal control assessments as well as evaluations of financial and operational performance. May act as a liaison between the Field and the Financial Service Center (FSC) to resolve inquiries from the Field regarding postings or transactions in the general ledger. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency with GAAP.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with COGNOS is advantageous.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong communication skills across all organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

Primarily sedentary work; must be able to sit for extended periods and utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse frequently. Occasional travel may be necessary, including overnight stays, depending on job requirements.
