Practical Nurse for Urological Care

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Completion of a recognized nursing program.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Practical Nursing License in Pennsylvania.
- Preferred experience in urological nursing.
- Experience in monitoring patients post-procedure or in critical care settings is advantageous.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Demonstrated ability to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, their families, physicians, and colleagues.
- Full range of motion, including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Frequent mobility and/or prolonged sitting required. Some bending, lifting, and stooping may be necessary.
- Normal color vision and visual acuity, either uncorrected or corrected.
- Normal hearing, or corrected to normal levels.
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as keyboards and calculators.
- Engagement with scheduling, managing information, and collaborating with physicians, staff, and patients. Occasional high-stress situations may arise.
- Work in a safe and hygienic environment within an outpatient center.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases.
- Exposure to chemicals commonly found in clinical settings (e.g., formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde).
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Tailoring care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
- Identifying patients, reviewing their medical histories, and conducting pre-procedure evaluations.
- Accurately performing and documenting nursing assessments prior to procedures.
- Understanding the operation and interpretation of monitoring equipment.
- Recognizing emergency situations and responding effectively.
- Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of all equipment and procedures.
- Continuously evaluating patient conditions and documenting care throughout procedures.
- Assisting with patient care and providing pre- and post-procedure instructions.
- Measuring and recording vital signs for each patient.
- Reviewing and documenting current medications and allergies.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy during examinations.
- Providing instructions and information to patients as directed by physicians.
- Administering medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Properly disposing of contaminated materials in accordance with regulations.
- Documenting all aspects of patient care in compliance with established policies.
