PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensing: Must hold a valid Practical Nursing License in Pennsylvania.
  • Preferred experience in urological nursing.
  • Experience in monitoring patients post-procedure or in critical care settings is advantageous.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Ability to interact compassionately and professionally with patients, their families, physicians, and colleagues.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Full range of motion, including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequent mobility and/or prolonged sitting may be necessary. Some bending, lifting, and stooping may be required.
  • Normal color vision and visual acuity, either normal or corrected.
  • Hearing must be normal or corrected to normal levels.
  • Manual dexterity for operating office equipment such as keyboards and calculators.
  • Engagement with scheduling, managing information, and collaborating with physicians, staff, and patients. Occasional high-stress situations may arise.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Work in a safe and clean environment within an outpatient care setting.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Exposure to clinical chemicals commonly used in healthcare settings.
DUTIES AND TASKS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  1. Ensuring the comfort and safety of each patient.
  2. Customizing care based on individual patient needs.
  3. Adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
  4. Identifying patients, reviewing medical histories, and conducting pre-procedure evaluations.
  5. Accurately performing and documenting nursing assessments prior to procedures.
  6. Understanding the operation and interpretation of monitoring equipment.
  7. Recognizing emergency situations and responding effectively.
  8. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of all equipment and procedures.
  9. Continuously evaluating patient conditions and documenting accurately throughout procedures.
  10. Assisting with patient care and providing pre- and post-procedure instructions.
CLERICAL NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Measuring and recording vital signs for each patient.
  2. Reviewing and documenting current medications and allergies.
  3. Ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy during examinations.
  4. Providing instructions and information to patients as directed by physicians.
  5. Administering medications as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Properly disposing of contaminated waste in accordance with regulations.
  7. Documenting all aspects of patient care in compliance with policies.
