Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert guidance and mentorship to a dedicated team of systems engineers.
  • Architect and sustain sophisticated systems frameworks across various sites.
  • Devise and execute automation initiatives to streamline processes.
  • Oversee virtualization environments while ensuring database security protocols are upheld.
  • Collaborate on the maintenance of web applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Establish and manage effective monitoring solutions for system health.
  • Engage in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address critical system issues.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture and data flow diagrams.
  • Support configuration management and logistical activities within IT.
  • Assist in the testing and upkeep of systems to ensure reliability.
  • Contribute to the security of information systems through proactive measures.
  • Travel as necessary to corporate and government facilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, including 5+ years in a senior capacity.
  • Proficient in Linux administration (CentOS, Rocky Linux, Red Hat).
  • Experience with VMware, various databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, MongoDB), and web services.
  • Expertise in automation tools, particularly Ansible.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and monitoring solutions (Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Networking experience with Cisco systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities in complex environments.
  • Ability to create detailed technical documentation and system diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with FAA National Airspace System.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with closed network systems and data streaming protocols.
