Position Overview:
As an Air Import Agent, you will oversee the logistics of our clients' air import shipments. Acting as the primary liaison, you will coordinate between the clients, customs brokers, and transportation carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process orders by confirming arrival schedules, liaising with customs brokerage, entering data, and organizing deliveries.
- Foster client relationships by addressing inquiries through various communication channels.
- Collaborate with air and ground transport partners to manage shipments effectively.
- Receive and monitor purchase orders from importers and overseas offices for pending air shipments.
- Gather shipment information, manage all documentation for cargo release, and ensure accurate data entry for each shipment.
- Respond to all client inquiries in alignment with established Customer Service Policy standards.
- Enhance client satisfaction and business engagement through proactive communication.
- Coordinate with air carriers to ensure timely release of freight.
- Inform clients and customs brokers of arrival details and associated charges; provide precise job costing forecasts and handle billing processes.
- Organize and manage deliveries to clients.
- Address and manage all client interactions at the file level concerning exceptions.
- Participate in additional projects as assigned.
- Outstanding customer service abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-up capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in the air freight sector (including exports) is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cargo Wise systems is advantageous.
