We are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor for our Homeless Outreach Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee outreach staff during the overnight hours.
  • Regularly train team members on safety protocols.
  • Engage with leadership to discuss staff issues and operational concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to incident reporting procedures.
  • Participate in field outreach alongside the team.
  • Conduct frequent field visits to connect with chronically homeless individuals.
  • Document all client interactions in the designated record-keeping system.
  • Stay informed about available social services and community resources.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license held for at least one year, with no more than three violation points in the last three years.
  • Preferred one year of experience in homeless outreach or a related field.
  • Ability to establish rapport with individuals requiring significant support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation abilities to represent the organization at various events.
  • Proficient in organizational, team-building, and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and standard business technologies.
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds.
  • Capability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged durations.
  • Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve documents or objects.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the boroughs using public transportation.
  • Ability to navigate a minimum of one mile in various weather conditions.
