We are seeking a highly skilled Subrogation Recovery Specialist to join our team at Elevance Health. As a Subrogation Recovery Specialist, you will play a critical role in researching and examining routine health claims to identify potential reimbursement opportunities from third-party liability, workers' compensation, and other subrogation/reimbursement cases.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate calls to insurance companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders to gather information and determine potential reimbursement opportunities.
- Utilize various research methods and vendor systems to gather information and identify potential claims.
- Work with subrogation staff and other departments to assist with the recovery process.
- Prepare written communications and reports to stakeholders.
- Review diagnostic and procedure codes to determine claims relevant to each case.
- Assist with small-scale special projects and contribute to the growth and development of the subrogation team.
- A minimum of 1 year of inbound or outbound call experience, or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- BA/BS degree in a related field, such as business, healthcare, or finance.
- Experience working in a healthcare cost containment or subrogation recovery environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws, including HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act.
