The HR Generalist is a key contributor to the North America Human Resources Business Partner organization at BISSELL Homecare. This role is responsible for providing operational support to the HRBP - Manager of Rug Doctor, serving as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, and managing the hourly associate relations process.
Key Responsibilities- HR Support: Serve as the first point of contact in HR for Rug Doctor hourly Associates, providing support and guidance on HR-related questions and concerns.
- Associate Relations: Manage the hourly associate relations process, providing support and guidance to hourly leadership on associate relations matters, including administration of policies and procedures.
- Onboarding: Lead the day one hourly orientation process and educate hourly leadership on onboarding post-day one.
- Attendance Reporting: Manage the weekly attendance reporting for hourly Associates, providing disciplinary documentation as necessary in partnership with leadership.
- Performance Management: Manage and administer the hourly Associate performance appraisal process, ensuring timely completion of tiered and annual reviews with well-balanced assessments by leaders.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs as it relates to policy or process changes and coordinate training activities to address those needs.
- Pay Rate Management: Manage hourly pay rate changes, including support and guidance on Oracle MSS.
- Leave Management: First point of contact for assigned Associates regarding requests for leave, acting as liaison to Total Rewards Team and/or leave vendor.
- Job Description Review: Be a key member of the job description review process for assigned leadership, partnering with the compensation team to ensure adherence to process.
- Payroll Support: Partner with payroll team to troubleshoot timecard, timeclock, attendance, or pay questions or concerns, ensuring execution of policy and compliance.
- HR Program Improvement: Share insights and recommendations for HR program and process improvements and own the implementation of improvements once approved.
- Annual Initiatives: Own selected processes for key annual HR initiatives, such as Performance and champion the planning, execution, and communication throughout the processes.
- Associate Relations Investigations: Support HRBP - Manager with Associate Relations investigations or Performance Management related issues for assigned Associates.
- Compliance and Trends: Stay current on labor law, compliance, and Associate relations trends.
- Data Reporting: Lead data reporting execution for HRBP function monthly scorecard, including exit, onboarding, and performance compliance and insights.
- Special Projects: Will receive special project requests as needed, creating robust project charters and plans as required.
- Core Competencies: Functional/Technical Expertise, Continuous Improvement, Self-Management, Learning Versatility/Agility, Delivers Results, Judgment and Decision Making.
- Experience and Education: Degree minimum: Bachelor's Degree, Specific concentration: Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or General Management preferred, Experience level: 1 – 2 + years of Human Resources Generalist experience, At least 2+ years of broad HR Coordinator or Specialist experience.
- Skills Required: Exceptional at navigating ambiguous situations and driving recommendations forward independently, Strong relationship and rapport builder with Associates at all levels, Strong customer service orientation required, Strong analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset, Must be able to manage time and workload independently and successfully manage multiple priorities, Must have experience in employment law, including an understanding of FMLA, ADA, and other leave processes, Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information, Proficiency in an HRIS system, Must be able to support a 24/7 operation and prioritize connections with off-shifts.
