About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Manager to join our team at Ingrid + Isabel. As a Technical Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the technical design team and overseeing the execution of product from development to production.

Responsibilities
  • Manage development, fitting, and approvals of all product categories
  • Ensure team hits all deadlines across both brands and their separate calendars
  • Oversee sizing and grading direction for both brands
  • Manage multiple calendars and overlapping deadlines
  • Oversee model and wear tester sourcing and bookings
  • Lead and develop technical design team members
  • Act as a leader on the Product Team in coordination with respective Product Development, Design, Merchandising, and Planning leaders
  • Deep understanding and experience working with overseas vendors and industrial apparel production
  • Managing all high-level projects including sizing, block pattern work, fit, construction, spec, and process guides for team and vendors, grading database, and how-to-measure guide, customer reviews data share-outs, competitive reviews, product wear-testing
  • Demonstrate excellence in leadership and strategic thinking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills
Requirements
  • Expert in patternmaking and grading
  • Expert in leading fittings, identifying fit issues, and corresponding corrections needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficient in building technical packages
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, fabrics, and trims
  • Experienced in Optitex or similar program for 2D patternmaking
  • Experience using 3D pattern software in some form during the development process
  • PLM experience
  • Experience with women's apparel across a variety of categories (experience in maternity a plus)
  • Deep understanding of apparel construction, sewing, and industrial apparel production
  • Understanding of cross-functional team roles including design, materials, sourcing, merchandising
  • Strong team player, enjoys working on a team and collaborating
  • Strong organization, planning, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable leading meetings and presenting to leadership
Education and Experience
  • Degree in Fashion Design/Development/Patternmaking or related field or equivalent number of additional years' work experience
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in apparel Technical Design
  • Experience in managing a team with a range of experience levels
