Amazon is in search of a seasoned, proactive Senior Technical Program Manager with a robust background in software engineering and exceptional program management capabilities to become a vital part of our Cloud Engineering Team.

In this advanced position, you will collaborate with diverse teams of both technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish strategic direction, gather requirements, foresee potential challenges, plan for interdependencies, alleviate project risks, and effectively communicate throughout the complete lifecycle of software engineering initiatives. You will engage with Product, Software (Mobile Applications, Cloud) and Hardware (Firmware) Engineering teams to assess and enhance device-related functionalities and services. Your role will involve providing technical guidance that ensures the successful development and integration of software applications. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and wish to influence the strategic trajectory of a global entity, this role offers a rewarding challenge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with both technical and non-technical teams responsible for the rollout of new devices and features across various locations.
  • Oversee the delivery of significant and impactful program initiatives while meticulously tracking a series of smaller projects.
  • Define, plan, execute, and successfully deliver software programs while working closely with product, engineering, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to align with overarching strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate strategic planning by collaborating with engineering to create feature plans, roadmaps, identify dependencies, and develop resource plans.
  • Conduct technical design evaluations, lead in-depth assessments, and utilize data to determine success metrics, trends, and insights.
  • Assess solution designs and complex business and technical requirements, communicating any program risks and proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical product or program management.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management with software engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with service-oriented architectures and cloud technologies/development.
  • Experience working with remote and multi-site teams to deliver system components.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, establishing sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million dollar business outcomes and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience leading large-scale enterprise projects as a Technical Program Manager.
  • Proficient in risk management and making complex technical/risk trade-off decisions.
  • Independently motivated, resourceful, and capable of delivering results with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers, product managers, and senior business and engineering leaders.
  • High level of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and stakeholder management.
