Position Summary:
The Safety and Security Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests and staff. This role involves regular patrols of the property to identify and address potential safety hazards, as well as enforcing hotel policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize appropriate communication protocols at all times.
  • Maintain visibility with the Front Desk and hotel entrance while stationed in the lobby area.
  • Document daily activities in a comprehensive log.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding guest and employee incidents.
  • Conduct briefings with Guest Services personnel at the start and end of each shift.
  • Verify identification of visitors and employees as required.
  • Grant access to secured areas for authorized individuals.
  • Stay informed about legal limitations relevant to the position.
  • Assist guests with room access as per hotel standards.
  • Provide support during medical emergencies.
  • Respond effectively to various emergency situations, including medical and security incidents.
  • Investigate reports of assaults and other disturbances.
  • Collaborate with external agencies as needed.
  • Address altercations and conduct investigations.
  • Understand hotel locking systems and security measures.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, if applicable.
  • Administer First Aid and CPR when necessary.
  • Challenge individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior.
  • Identify and report safety hazards.
  • Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Oversee employee access to the building.
  • Investigate property loss, guest and employee incidents, and any crimes.
  • Document all deliveries appropriately.
  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure the premises are secure.
  • Provide escorts for individuals carrying valuables upon request.
  • Manage the issuance and inventory of communication devices and keys.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to exert significant physical effort, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Capability to remain standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to navigate stairs and respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Physical capability to deter individuals posing a threat.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and guests.
  • Strong listening skills to address concerns from guests and employees.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Approach all interactions with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to attendance standards as per hotel policies.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Follow hotel standards and regulations to promote safe operations.
  • Identify and address productivity challenges and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to interpret complex information from various sources.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate initiative in anticipating guest and operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
