Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner

Virginia Mason Medical Center, a dynamic and historic community hospital in the center of Seattle, is seeking a skilled Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Our vision is to provide comprehensive palliative care services to patients and families dealing with serious illnesses.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a driven Palliative Care NP who can deliver high-quality care to our patients. Our interprofessional team supports patients and families in both the hospital and outpatient clinic, which is embedded in our Cancer Institute. This part-time APP position would be 3 days per week in clinic with the ability to follow established patients in the hospital.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will have a natural ability to connect with patients and their families, as well as communicate effectively with other medical providers. They will be clinically strong and well-informed of the newest Palliative Care treatments. Excellent communication skills are essential, both with coworkers and patients and families.
Experience and Certifications
Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority. BLS is also required.
