Position Overview

Applewood is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiac or Critical Care to join our dedicated team. Candidates must have a background in one of the specified areas to be eligible for this role.

This is a Full-Time position with 10-hour shifts, primarily scheduled Monday through Friday. On-call duties will rotate every 4-6 weeks, with Saturday hours dedicated to Stress Testing from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients, adhering to established standards and protocols.

  • Assists physicians by monitoring patients during cardiac evaluations.
  • Identifies adverse reactions to medications and responds promptly.
  • Detects changes in patient conditions and takes necessary actions.
  • Promotes healthy lifestyle changes through patient education.
  • Instructs patients on cardiac conditions and outlines rehabilitation plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough nursing assessments and documents findings systematically.
  • Analyzes health data to determine nursing diagnoses and care needs.
  • Collaborates with patients and families to develop personalized care plans.
  • Administers medications according to established protocols.
  • Responds effectively to medication variances and emergencies.
  • Engages in continuous professional development and practice improvement.
  • Participates in team discussions to enhance quality of care.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff as necessary.
  • Utilizes critical thinking to manage patient care effectively.
  • Provides interventions for pain management and education on cardiac risks.
  • Leads discussions on quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation processes.
  • Identifies and addresses the needs of patients and their families promptly.
  • Implements evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in telemetry or critical care.
  • Current RN License in New Jersey required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Specialty certification in cardiac rehabilitation is required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
