Position Overview

CentraState Healthcare System is actively seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a focus on Cardiac Services or a background in ICU/CCU nursing. Candidates must possess relevant experience in one of the specified areas to qualify for this role.

This is a Full-Time position with 10-hour shifts, typically scheduled Monday through Friday. On-call duties will rotate every 4-6 weeks, with Saturday hours from 10 AM to 3 PM for Stress Testing.

This is a unique opportunity for full-time employment, and we are currently conducting interviews.

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients, adhering to ANA standards, the NJ Practice Act, Joint Commission regulations, and established hospital policies and procedures.

  • Assist physicians by monitoring patients during cardiac diagnostic procedures.
  • Identify adverse reactions to medications and respond promptly and appropriately.
  • Recognize changes in patient conditions and emergency situations, taking immediate action as necessary.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle changes and educate patients about the cardiac disease process.
  • Introduce patients to cardiac rehabilitation recovery plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and maintain continuous communication regarding patient status.
  • Analyze health data to establish nursing diagnoses and determine necessary interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established protocols and document all actions taken.
  • Engage in unit discussions to enhance quality of care and implement improvement strategies.
  • Delegate appropriate care tasks to non-professional caregivers as needed.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in patient care management.
  • Provide effective pain management interventions and document assessments and responses.
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac risk factors and rehabilitation processes.
  • Oversee daily operations of cardiac rehabilitation services and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives aligned with national standards.
  • Act as a role model to enhance nursing practices within the department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in telemetry or critical care is required; emergency care experience is also considered.
  • Current RN License in New Jersey is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
  • Specialty certification in cardiac rehabilitation is required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
