Job Summary

PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our team in Reading, Pennsylvania. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and report all test analyses according to physician orders in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, FDA, CAP, AABB, OSHA, CLIA, and JCAHO regulations.
  • Process and analyze specimens, and maintain test results in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that laboratory results are communicated effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure that laboratory tests are performed accurately and reliably.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies, and participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
  • Minimum one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
